Girly and Gutsy at Moxie Fab World

Moxie Fab World does it again with a Tuesday Trigger challenge.  The Girly and Gutsy Tuesday Trigger is all about glam and glitz using a great color combo: pink, black, white and a hint of yellow.  Although I did not use any yellow on my card, it is full of glam and glitz.  The inspiration for my card came from the colors and glitziness of the trigger photo.  Here's a picture of my card and of the inspiration photo.

Heartfelt Thanks and Tuesday Trigger

This is another card I made for the Luminous Layers Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World.  The inspiration from this card was *obviously* the layers.  I layered several ovals that I punched from designer paper and glued down on cardstock.  Then I die cut the label from the glued layered piece.

Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger this week is a fancy layered dress.  Check out the Luminous Layers challenge for some layering inspiration.  My 1st card was inspired by the dress and the lovely layers.

My Favorite Botanical Card

Here's a botanical card I made for the Moxie Fab World Fanatical about Botanical challenge that I really like.  It blends a bit of vintage and shabby chic.  This isn't my typical style, but I think it turned out nice.

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger: Perty and Flirty

Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger this week is all about a "perty and flirty" little yellow jacket.  For my card, I inked the dressform in yellow then "kissed" it onto a lace detail stamp inked in pink.  The inspiration for my card was the color palette and the dressform the jacket is hanging on.  I'd love to have a flirty little jacket like this!

Beautiful Borders at Moxie Fab World

Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge

Papertrey Ink is holding its June Blog Hop.  This month's inspiration photo is shown below.  The sun's been shining FINALLY so I was inspired to make this rainbow card.  I started with just a plain white card then added some rainbow bright decorator paper I got for my birthday from a coworker. I die cut clouds from the rainbow paper to show the white from the background, then die cut a sun shape and added some yellow sheer ribbon for sun rays.

I'm PUBLISHED!

I know not many people view this blog, but if you do, I have BIG news...I got my first card published in a magazine that just came out.  That's right, you can find my first published card in the newest edition of Paper Crafts (July/Aug 2011) magazine.  Just have a look at page 27 and you'll see what creation made it in!

I'm Sew Excited at Moxie Fab World!

Moxie Fab World is hosting a challenge all about sewing called the I'm Sew Excited! Challenge.  In this challenge, your project can include anything to do with sewing: thread, stitching, stamps about sewig, etc.  So I made this card using a new sewing machine stamp from My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose collection.  I embossed it in cream with the cute sentiment that I bought many moons ago.

Tuesday Trigger: The Pyrex Effect

Moxie Fab World is holding it's weekly Tuesday Trigger, and this week it is based on some lovely bright Pyrex bowls.  These bowls remind me of when my grandmother would serve fresh California cantelope and strawberries on Sunday mornings with her homemade oatmeal.  My interpretation of the trigger is based on the colors, the birds and the scalloped look the nesting bowls have.

Komen Race for the Cure

Today, my mother, granddaughter and I completed the 3 mile Susan Komen Race for the Cure.  My mom and I try to do the race in spring in Spokane, WA (where we live) and in the fall in Coeur d' Alene, ID (about 1/2 hour away).  It was VERY chilly this morning (32 degrees...BRRR!), but we got lucky because it didn't rain.  My granddaughter had a lot of fun.  I bundled her up tight and she just sat in her stroller taking in the 8,000+ people and eating her snacks.  Here's a photo I snapped of her before we started the walk.  Her baby brother was born about 3 weeks ago, so I figured she would like a little "Grandma Time" with me and my mother.  About 5 minutes after we got in the car to leave when the race was over, she was fast asleep!

Porch Play at Moxie Fab World

This week's Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World is called Porch Play.   The photo the trigger is based on reminds of a hot summer day sitting on the front porch sipping some lemonade and chatting about the good old days!  I can't WAIT to do this, but first we need some hot (or even warm) weather.  Anyway, I based the card shown here off of the chair and the colors- red, turquoise, and yellow.  My card is also a simple design with a simple sentiment...cute, quick and easy!

Moxie Fab's Home Decor Challenge

Moxie Fab World does it again!  They are hosting a home decor challenge in celebration of the  release of 350 Cards & Gifts.  I made 26 of these cutie little spring flower pots for a spring all-staff meeting at work for centerpieces...and I liked them so much, I made a couple more for my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter's owl/nature-inspired bedroom, AND, I had three staff BEG for one for themselves.  The original 26 were distributed between my organization's 10 locations and a few at the district office.  I bought the cute little pots at Target in those fun dollar bins (2 for $1...such a deal!..the metal pick bird and butterfly were also in those fun bins, but they were a steal at 3 for $1!) and I used some yummy K & Co. Life's Little Occasions designer paper.  A few (okay, quite a few!) runs through the old Big Shot with my Sizzix originals flowers dies made up the beautiful bright flower shapes.  For the stems, I found a colorful bamboo placemat at the dollar store and simply pulled out the threads...one placemat made them ALL!  Top it off with some fun buttons and a ribbon tie for leaves...VOILA!  Oh, for the tissue paper flowers, I simply die cut 2 sizes of scallop circles (several layers in each), punched a hole in the middle, put in a brad, then separated and crinkled the layers...cutie patootie!

Embellish Magazine Color Trends/Decorative Trim Challenge

My last few days of being off for spring break are winding down, so I am trying to take part in some online challenges.  Here's a challenge that Embellish Magazine is hosting: the Decorative Trim Color Trends Challenge.  I purchased this Heidi Grace clear mount stamps set at Joann's a few weeks back and decided to use it for this challenge (notice the small amount of decorative velvet scallop trim under the greeting).  So, whaddya think?
